As tomorrow quickly approaches, I do want to fill you in on the Blessed Hope Champions Orphanage and Academy. Pastor Joel has been serving in Uganda as a pastor for a long time. He had been taking care of orphans of the AIDS epidemic for sometime when God laid on his heart the idea for the orphanage/academy.
With prayer and amazing support, he was able to break ground in the Spring of 2005. After continued support, the orphanage now has 2 dorms, teacher's rooms, a kitchen, electricity, hand dug well, and a few other things. Pastor Joel proudly feeds the children of the orphanage from the grounds it stands on. The orphanage is on over 20 acres of land that the students help farm. They also help tend to the animals. One of the biggest issues for orphanages is a lack of food or support from the government. The Blessed Hope Academy runs solely on the land it stands on and donations! How amazing!
We now get the opportunity to equip them with enough new bunk beds and mosquito nets so that every child has a place to lay their head. :) I can't even imagine not being able to do that each night or to live with the constant fear of malaria (a preventable and treatable disease). We will also get to worship with them, provide crafts and recreation, and just build relationships! I can hardly wait.

Count down until take off now 24.5 hours!!
